Monday afternoon we went on a hike with a friend and conquered Camelback Mountain! It was quite the hike, and I may or may not be still sore from it.
It has been a while (too long) since I've been on a good strenuous hike(or any hike), it was sad/embarrassing to see that in my camelback (portable "water hose," not to be confused with the mountain now) I still had snacks and my permit tag from my backpacking trip on Maui for my bio class (I was reallllly spoiled when I was a bio major).
Here are some pictures for your enjoyment. Please disregard that we look like a hot mess. Our camera didn't do the hike quite justice, but getting to the top was definitely worth it, having a 360 degree view of the whole Phoenix valley.

Sleep Texting
Some people complain sometimes about their friends or significant others "drunk texting" them, and either being really annoyed or very entertained. Well, luckily my story isn't one of those, but kinda the same idea.
A couple of nights ago, I wake up to the "beep" of my phone, indicating a text message, at around 2:30am. I was a little confused and said, "who on earth is texting me right now?"
I look at my phone, and sure enough, it has my husband's name on it (whom yes, is {sorta}sleeping right next to me)
He says, "Oh that's me, I just texted you." In a no big deal type of tone.
I was so out of it, but I kind of laughed as I read my text message from him that read, "Get away from this weekend."
Yes, so that potentially could sound a little creepy of something you would text in your sleep, but I remember asking him about it in the moment and he kinda said something about him dreaming about being at work {he works at a hotel} so it kinda made sense, in that context.
Being married to this guy just keeps getting better.
I'll keep being entertained, as long as he doesn't start sleep walking.
{If you haven't read about the other funny things he has done in his sleep, you can read about them here, in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd things that he has said.}

Happy Easter
Happy Easter everyone!
May we remember that this day is not about delicious candies and fuzzy bunnies, but about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He lived, and he died for us and our sins, and has risen again. May we make more room for Him in our lives, so that we can have happy and more fulfilling lives, and ultimately to return to live with Him again.
I know with all my heart that He lives, He is my Savior, and that I can be forgiven of my sins through Him.

24 going on 4
Sometimes, I think I have child-like tendencies {no, I don't think I'm necessarily immature, thank you very much}. Why so? Well...
#1-Sometimes, I hate the idea of showering. It's usually after I exercise {I'm blogging now to put off showering}. Ok, yeah, that's gross, but it only lasts for about an hour or so, then I actually go do it. Once I do it it's not so bad and quite enjoyable, but there's just something about getting to it.
#2- Lately, I have been getting cranky about having to go to bed, just like a child. I think sleeping at night use to be SO much more fun when I had two jobs and was a full time student, but now...its just another event leading to just another day.
Maybe I should go buy some arm floaties now and go jump in the pool.
(yeah, that's about what I looked like as a child.)

unemployed and bored.
Being unemployed (playing the waiting and rejected game), not a student, and no children, means that you have a lot of time on your hands. I've gotten a little too much into blogging, and enjoy finding random blogs. I've been sharing funny things I've found via facebook with a friend from high school, and in return another friend suggested another blog to look at.
With the powers combined of the blog from my last post and this new blog, I have been lol'ing at my computer, a lot. I think in the last 24 hours, I have laughed more than I have in the last several weeks combined.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I would be genuinely surprised if you did not find at least one of the posts funny.

Sunday
Let's be honest, I'm usually pretty dang lazy on Sundays; it's the "day of rest" after all, right? Well, I've decided that I'm a little too lazy on Sundays, especially now that I'm not a student.
After joining the missionaries this week in a discussion with a soon to be member of the LDS church, I've felt prompted and encouraged to make my Sundays more church and Christ centered, rather than just being lazy all day. {although this doesn't mean I'll be cutting Sunday naps...} This will take some time and some major improvements, but I know it'll be a good outcome.
So today to work towards that goal, I watched this clip (below), because I missed it the other week when it was presented live, due to the fact we were already on the road heading home from our trip to Utah.
This message really touched my heart and reminded me of what great church and world leaders I have to look up to.
I encourage you to watch it if you haven't already done so; it is beautiful and uplifting whether you are a member of the LDS church or not.
Feel free to leave comments or questions or visit here.

Dream Home.
I was here today enjoying some time with Page friends. This community is AMAZING and absolutely gorgeous; I felt like I wasn't in AZ anymore!
I. want. to. live. there.
Maybe someday.

Robots.
Today I was reading this article, and it reminded me of my childhood love for the "Short Circuit" movies that I used to watch at my grandma's house.
I would laugh when "Johnny 5" would crack jokes (later in life finding that some of them were inappropriate)

I would cry when he was sad or when he got beaten up {"No disassemble number FIIIIVE!" traumatic, really}

and I would get freaked out when he would get mad or his creepy enemies would come after him {red eyes and all}

Speaking of creepy robots, that article I mentioned earlier? It was really interesting and cool until I got to slide number 4. I was watching all the clips for all the different slides, but this clip, nope, no thanks, I couldn't finish watching it because it freaked me out too much.
But don't worry, if you decide to go through all the robots, that's the only creepy one.
I might have nightmares tonight about angry Johnny 5 and real-life like robots.

who'd a thunk it?
Since leaving school, I think I have lost some of my educated brain cells. Lately, I have found that I have been using bad grammar or bad spelling. A friend of mine called me out on my "oh the weather outside is freightful" post below. Yeah, it's frightful. In my defense, I'm not sure if I've ever spelled that word in my life? That might be a lie, but I seriously can't remember the last time I wrote/typed that word. I was on my phone and it doesn't have spell check, ok??
This is all mildly embarrassing, seeing that spelling errors are kinda one of my pet peeves, especially if they are easy words that you should have learned when you were in 3rd grade (your, you're, their there they're, "tomarrow"etc). It's even more embarrassing when it comes from people that are in education, or studying it.
Anyway, I'll work on it.

Sun to Snow
Today marks the end of our long weekend road trip to Utah. This past weekend we went on our little Mormon pilgrimage to Salt Lake City to watch General Conference. We had tickets to watch it live for Saturday morning and it was a real treat, especially since Wolfgang has never seen the huge conference center.
It was an enjoyable weekend spent catching up with many of my old roommates/ Wolfgang's mission friends whom we have not seen in several years. I miss those girls so much and which I could be around them more often, but I enjoyed the time I had with them. I had every intention of taking pictures, but got caught up in the moment of catching up/laughing/reminiscing in such a short amount of time.
This was also a weekend of blessings. I'll try not to get too wordy {since I've probably already lost your interest in not having any pictures}. Let's just say that we had several "incidences" with our car this weekend, that could have ended up possibly canceling our trip altogether, having a lot of car damage, and costing us a lot of money. Thank the heavens above that we had good Samaritans, talented car gurus, and trusty and honest friends to help us out and make our weekend still happen, worry-free, and very cost efficient.
It was a good weekend, and now it's go time on really convincing people to hire me.
