My turn to blog!

She is the best!

This is Wolfgang, her husband duh?!? writing about Jaimie aka the wifey.

I love Jaimie because .....

..... she is funny (that's what she says!)

..... she is HOT (no she is not a lesbian because she pulls off short hair better than you!)

.... she supports me and I support her

.... she is the best in cuddling

.... I love her more when she makes me cookies

and many more reasons that I don't feel comfortable writing about on her blog ;) haha, now I'm the funny one!

Anyway, 2012 is going to be one heck of a year! It is going to be the best year yet, cause I have the one and only Jaimie. I just L.O.V.E. her!

Dinner: FAIL.

Husbands are great for:

Getting things from high places {if they are 6' 4" of course}, and

Opening things.

Well, my honey bee sugar Euro pie wasn't home tonight when I needed my Spaghetti sauce opened; I tried, and tried, and tried.

So for dinner, I had spaghetti noodles and broccoli.

Think outside the box...

...and into the hot tub.

Who says you can't put a water mattress in a hot tub?

That's right, Nobody.

Surprise Date

Wolfgang took me on a "surprise date" probably about two weeks ago that I keep forgetting to blog about, but he keeps reminding me that I need to blog about it {I think he's pretty proud of the fact that he was able to surprise me with something}. SO, here I am!

It's actually really hard to surprise me, mainly because right now I'm always home when Wolfgang is, so it makes it hard for him to do anything without me knowing.

But lo and behold he was able to pull something off, because it happened at work. He was able to score some free ballet tickets from the concierge at work, so off we went!

The ballet was entitled, "Mosaik" and it was good {Wolfgang may have nodded off a couple of times though} and the theater it was held in was awesome! According to a cute "seasoned" usher, she said that it was the only historic theater that was preserved in the area.

I felt like I was at the Moulin Rouge!

There was also beautiful staircase but I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it b/c some hoochie mamas were having an usher do a photo shoot for them on it, so no such luck.

I hope to discover more fun places here in the valley in the coming months.

Sleep Texting

Some people complain sometimes about their friends or significant others "drunk texting" them, and either being really annoyed or very entertained. Well, luckily my story isn't one of those, but kinda the same idea.

A couple of nights ago, I wake up to the "beep" of my phone, indicating a text message, at around 2:30am. I was a little confused and said, "who on earth is texting me right now?"

I look at my phone, and sure enough, it has my husband's name on it (whom yes, is {sorta}sleeping right next to me)
He says, "Oh that's me, I just texted you." In a no big deal type of tone.

I was so out of it, but I kind of laughed as I read my text message from him that read, "Get away from this weekend."

Yes, so that potentially could sound a little creepy of something you would text in your sleep, but I remember asking him about it in the moment and he kinda said something about him dreaming about being at work {he works at a hotel} so it kinda made sense, in that context.

Being married to this guy just keeps getting better.

I'll keep being entertained, as long as he doesn't start sleep walking.

{If you haven't read about the other funny things he has done in his sleep, you can read about them here, in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd things that he has said.}

episode 3: awake.

...or is this episode 4? I'm not sure.

You all that have been reading my blog know, that Wolfgang likes to make funny conversations with me, when he's half asleep.

Well this time, he was well awake (or kind of) eyes open and all, after I tried waking him up from a nap. He wrestled around a little bit, waking up...looks at me, yada yada, then he says,

"Your room is ready"
Me: laughs, "oh honey, you're so funny"
W: "what?" (then I tell him what he just said to me) he looks right at me and says,
"your last name is Burton, right?" (says something little before that but I forgot what he says)
Me: snap my fingers at his face, (a little freaked out at this point) "Honey, it's me, wake up, you're starting to freak me out."
W: moans a little and says, "I dunno, I must be having a dream or something." Then turns and tries to go back to sleep.
Me: I let him, because I'm a little too weirded out!

That's what I get for him working for Marriott...good thing he has tomorrow off.

Snoring.

For some unknown reason, Wolfgang has decided to take up a new hobby: Snoring.

In Hawaii, I don't remember him snoring so much, so I don't know if that means he really didn't snore as much, or that I was just completely exhausted by the end of the day with school full-time and jobs, that I just didn't notice.

So, last night we had another funny little sleeping conversation

Me: (slightly shaking Wolfgang) "hon...hon...HON...Wolfgang..., you're snoring really loud"
W: "ich laub di" (ok, that's not real German, but that's what it sounded like)
Me: (chuckle) "what?"
W: "Oh, I just spoke German to you in English"
Me: (chuckle again...then really confused by the statement)..."huh?"
W: (kinda chuckles) "Oh, I just said 'thank you' in German"
Me: "Ha, ok...." silence. *light bulb* (wait a minute, I KNOW what 'thank you' is in German, and that was NOT it.)

These funny little sleeping conversations will never get old to me.

Episode Two

Here is episode two to this post. :

Last night when I went to bed, Wolfgang was sound asleep. I thought I might have a little fun...

Me: "hun.....hun...??"
Wolfgang: (groan)
Me: (thinking of something) "Did you feed the cow today?"
Wolfgang: "yeah, its all good."
Me: "what did she say?" (apparently this is the best thing I could think of at that moment)
Wolfgang: (Something in German).
Me. (pause.)..."What did she say in English?"
Wolfgang: "Nothing."

It's time for those cows to learn some English.

Jack-o-what?

Not only is Wolfgang funny half- asleep, he's also pretty funny awake, too.

For those of you who watch the hilarious "Modern Family" tv show, you might appreciate this even more, after watching the episode from 2 weeks ago.

On Halloween, before making my traditional "Jack-o-lantern sloppy joes" (ever since we were little) with some friends, Wolfgang was trying to clarify the name, Jack-o-lantern.

He thought they were "Jack-o-Lennons"
Wolfgang: "you know, like the singer, right?"

Nope.

He can get away with it, because of the whole "English as a second language" excuse.

I'm considering making an additional blog, and only filling it with random quotes from him, but I'm thinking I would be the only one that thought it was funny.

Who knows, maybe I'll give it a try.

Got Milk?

Sometimes Wolfgang says some funny things when he's half awake/dreaming/sleep talking. I'm slowly getting better at coming up with things to say in response, to hopefully provoke a funny sleep-talking conversation.

The one this morning went something like this:

(my alarm goes off, Wolfgang wakes up a little):

W: (mumbles)"My professor said 'Got Milk?' today, it was pretty funny."
Me: "oh yeah? why did he say that?"
W: "I don't know, I guess you need money when starting a business."
Me: "does he have his own cow?"
W: "no."
(pause. couldn't quickly think of anything else to ask)

end of conversation.

Can't wait for the next one!

Birthday Boy

So it's a bit late in the day to be doing this, but we are finally home for the night, and I couldn't finish this day by not dedicating a post to the cute little European we love! ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WOLFGANG!

Now you are old like me!
I'm so glad that you were born :)

We've had lots of fun memories together,
And I look forward to many more to come.

Editions

I love the farmer's market on campus every other Friday (pay day, sneaky sneaky)

Today was especially quite the event, because along with the farmer's market was a health fair thing of some sort. The farmer's market has really improved since it first started, and today we notice a few editions to the "menu," yummy cinnamon rolls, and this:

Mmm. I love bread. Especially with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar... mm MMM!

and,

Wolfgang is loving his new job at the Waikiki (Marriott) Edition. He's been working there a few weeks now, and this whole weekend they are super busy with the grand opening. Word has it that Usher and Christina Aguilera will be there; Wolfgang will believe it when he see's it.

If Usher really does show up, Wolfgang said he's going to ask him if he will make him famous like he did Justin Bieber. He'll even upload a youtube video, if he has to.

The hotel has been really hush hush about everything, but now that they are officially open, they have come out to the public. Click Here to watch a little clip about it that they did on the news today. (two picture icons under the red "Video Gallery" first the one on the right, then left.) Then there are some more pictures here. Quite risky with their choice of colors!

Those Europeans...

a couple of days ago in my Gender and Culture class, our student discussion leader somehow got on the subject of "Global Promiscuity" (courteous of the almighty Wikipedia, of course).

My favorite part was when the article said,

"Another study that looked at promiscuity based on total number of sex partners found that Austrian men were the most promiscuous males in the world with 29.3 sexual partners on average..."

(I chuckled out loud in class).

Looks like we'll be having a long talk tonight.
