I am proud to announce that Wolfgang was offered and has excepted a job at the brand new 'Marriott EDITION' hotel in Waikiki! Needless to say, he is VERY excited about it, for a couple of reasons:
a. He never again has to work in the Polynesian Cultural Center
b. He's been trying really hard for months now trying to get in on this 'hip' new hotel concept from Marriott
c. It gets his foot in the door in the industry even before he graduates...etc etc.
The hotel hasn't even opened yet, and he'll start working at the beginning of Sept. If you're bored and interested, you can learn more about it here. Fair warning though, to be completely honest the website is actually pretty lame, because they are super hush hush about everything still.
Anyway, I'm excited for him and look forward to what this might bring in the future.

My great, great, great, great....
Today we had an appointment with the "family history consultant" from church. Over the years I've been avoiding doing my family history, and only was involved when I had to be. Now that the Laie temple will be re-opening in November, the stake's goal is to have 1000 deceased family names ready, to be able to do their work for them. (for a little bit more info, watch the video below)
It was exciting and humbling to be able to access the records of many deceased relatives. I've also been so humbled and I'm so grateful for those who have put so much work into websites such as new.familysearch.org and ancestry.com , and how amazing new technology is. I'm also so grateful for faithful and hard working relatives who have done a TON of work. I'm hoping this will be only the beginning to a new and good hobby and that I can help both my living and deceased family and ancestors.

The Blog tells all
According to my blog, I am currently a media junkie.
My last post had to do with tv, and as a spoiler, this one will be about tv too. And what tv show you might ask?
(very large for dramatic effect)
In short, this is what I think:
Frank:
Needs to GO. I liked him in the first episode, and now he's just super lame. Ali is wasting her time with this dude.

I like to call him the "Latino Lover." He's definitely a Rico Suave, almost to where it is nauseating. They've got the "chemistry" (purely sexually, in my opinion), but other than that their relationship seems pretty shallow. Therefore, Ali is really shallow? Hmm...

Hmm...The whole sha-bang, the real deal, you name it; he's my FAVORITE! His family is even awesome too. This isn't the greatest picture of him, but he's the cutest in my opinion too. As much as I like him, I don't think he's going to win, unfortunately. The nice guys finish last! Maybe him and Tenley from last season should hook up?? Hmm.
Anyways, that's it- take it for what it's worth (not a whole lot).

this week
I figured it was about that time again to blog, but I've got nothin'...pretty much.
Item#1: I'm really enjoying my new job, although it's A LOT of new information. It is just a bit intimidating knowing that it is so crucial to give the students the right information, otherwise you could be partially at fault if:
a. a student gets deported
b. they are stranded in an airport or better yet, in different country
c. can't get back into the U.S.
d. fill out the wrong papers and don't get something done on time...
...and the like. Ya know, no big deal. Needless to say, I ask LOTS of questions; I don't want to be held responsible.
Messing up on someone's sandwich vs. messing up on someone's immigration information...hmm.
Item #2- working 12+ hours every day this week has been no bueno. NOT a fan, I think I'll be quitting subway earlier than I thought.
Item #3- Wolfgang and I are hooked on this tv show "Prision Break." I think it no longer airs, but we are in the middle of it's first season, and it's surprisingly pretty addicting, even if one of the actors looks like he has a permanent allergy problem that causes his whole face to swell

Another, only has one facial expression and talks with hardly moving his mouth
And yet another, who also talks in monotone and permanently looks and talks like she is drugged.
I shouldn't support such poor acting.
Anyway, that is all. for now.

Happy 4th!
4th of July weekend so far:

We are addicted. We converted our friends.

Fun, but STINKY. China Town in San Fran is 10x better.

Fun movie, and part of it was filmed in Salzburg which Wolfgang didn't know, he just about freaked out. Made him slightly homesick too.

Best part of 4th of July! I must say, I think this holidays is one of my favorites.
God bless America!
I do have to say, 4th of July is just a tad different living in an international community. In church today we only sang one patriotic song, and I do have to admit, I was pretty disappointed. I also didn't realize until today that I miss standing up and singing, and seeing the congregation hold back tears of gratitude; it was just another day for most of the people.
I'm grateful to live in America, despite its imperfections.
We had a blast, Wolfgang made me go on the "scary" ones, even if I didn't want to, but I'm glad I did in the end. I'm glad it was free though, I would never pay full price.
