Today we had an appointment with the "family history consultant" from church. Over the years I've been avoiding doing my family history, and only was involved when I had to be. Now that the Laie temple will be re-opening in November, the stake's goal is to have 1000 deceased family names ready, to be able to do their work for them. (for a little bit more info, watch the video below)
It was exciting and humbling to be able to access the records of many deceased relatives. I've also been so humbled and I'm so grateful for those who have put so much work into websites such as new.familysearch.org and ancestry.com , and how amazing new technology is. I'm also so grateful for faithful and hard working relatives who have done a TON of work. I'm hoping this will be only the beginning to a new and good hobby and that I can help both my living and deceased family and ancestors.
