Call me a liar if you want.

Ok, so I said I would have those whale pictures for you by now, BUT, a friend of mine needed a computer real bad for a senior project last night-all day today, so that's a legit excuse right? I'm on Wolfgang's computer, by the way. I just wanted to keep informed so that you don't go hatin'. Happy Saturday!

A "surprise," not an "accident."

A couple of years ago at BYU-Idaho while taking a Child Development class, I, for some reason, clearly remember my teacher saying that unexpected babies are not an "accident," rather "a surprise." Makes sense, cause who wants to be known as an accident? Anyway, I just read on a family member's blog that his wife unexpectedly got pregnant on a type of birth control (sorry, I can't remember the acronym), and that it is suppose to have a less than 1% chance of getting prego. Granted, God is over all and makes things happen that need to regardless of what we want or think is right, but it just made me think, "Wow. I hope that doesn't happen to me." That's all.

Now don't go spreading rumors that I never want to have kids, you little gossipers you!

No I am not sexually active and also do not take any form of b.c. Thanks MOM...

Excuse the slackage.

Aloha!

I know it's been a while, please forgive me. There quite a bit to catch up on, so I hope you're ready. I don't want to make this a novel post, so I'll try to keep it short, but I'm usually pretty bad at that.

So Valentine's Day/ President's Day weekend was....GREAT! Not only was it a 3 day weekend which is always welcomed, but it also had a lot of fun to go with it. That weekend Wolfgang and I decided to rent a car so we wouldn't be stuck in Laie for 3 days. I'm glad we did it, and I'm glad we got a nice Toyota Corolla, that thing was amazing on gas mileage! So Valentine's Day consisted of:

Getting red roses from Wolfgang that morning (sorry no picture, my camera is crappy and can't take a decent close up picture no matter what setting it's on), going to a surprise pre-wedding party for our friend (and Wolfgang's roommate) Scott and JM who are getting married in April,

Then I left the party early to frantically hurry and print off Wolfgang's gift and to make it look somewhat nice. My mom helped me with the idea and Ben helped me put it together, so thank you both! I am a completely uncreative person and need a boost from others in these types of situations to get me goin'. Then I quickly biked over to Wolfgang's house to "heart attack" his room, which by this time he is growing impatient and thinks I am still on campus finishing his present.Oh yes, and that is, indeed, a teddy bear on his bed. So after getting some help from Scott and JM to finish decorating, I hid behind the door until Wolfgang came home. His first reaction was, "who did this?" wow hon. Ya know, of COURSE I was lying, but you would think that a guy could put two and two together. So I came out from behind the door before he could say any other unintelligent things (love you Wolfgang... :) )

The rest of the day was just nice and relaxed, and it was just nice to spend the day with Wolfgang. The night before we also went and saw, "He's just not that into you" which was good. On President's Day, we went WHALE WATCHING!!! It was great, and I've been wanting to do that for a very long time, especially due to my childhood obsession of "Free Willy," and Killer Whales/dolphins in general, and I'm not even exaggerating when I say obession. It was such a great experience, and you all are going to kill me now but....I don't have all the pictures that I want to show on my blog yet, so you're going to have to wait a few more days....I'm sorry! So there will be a whale watching post shortly, don't hate.

But, something else that happened the other day, is that I made my first loaf of bread in my new bread maker! I got it for cheap through craigslist, it was a good buy.

So after finally getting all the ingredients, I was anxious to get the show on the road, and after 3 1/3 hours of cookin in the bread maker, it turned out like this:

HA! It was still good to eat, but it looked like the surface of the moon, and to eat it you just had to rip of chunks, it was quite pathetic. I'm not sure what happened to it, I tried it again but this time doing white bread, and it turned out just fine, so I guess it just wanted to be tempermental.

So that's the scoop on my life. I hope you are all doing well, and check back in a few days (maybe not until this weekend though, I'm sorry!) and I'll have the scoop on whale watching.

Food Fest

Here at BYU-Hawaii, we have an event every semester called "Food Fest." It is this big event where all the clubs of the school come together, set up booths, and cook lots of food to sell to raise money for their club, listen to crappy live music(it never fails), and play on inflatable things. The first semester I came out here it was really cool, because there was all this different types of food to try, but now it's kind of just one of those things you go, just to go. To purchase the various types of food, you must first buy tickets, then you use those tickets to go around and try food. We've now gotten a little smarter, and are more frugal with our tickets, and realize now that the plate dinners are not as cheap as you think. Also there is only so much BBQ chicken and rice you can eat, funny how that was the main thing for many of the clubs. Convergence perhaps? That's a whole another topic. Granted though, some clubs still do their best to be original.

Oh, and you know you are in Hawaii IF...

The fire truck has a surfboard on top. It makes sense, but still funny.

Pre-Valentine's Day lovin'

I was feeling the love today when I got a package in the mail today from my mom of the few things that I had asked for that I needed, and she also filled the box with v-day candy, non-perishable food, vitamins, and yeast (for my new bread maker). Ya know, the essentials. My mom is great, isn't she? Love you mom. :)

sharing is caring

I just wanted to share some pictures that I took this weekend while Wolfgang and I made a complete circle island tour this past Saturday. I bought a bread maker for cheap (well, nothing is cheap for a college student, but it was significantly cheaper than what it is worth) from some lady off craigslist, thanks to my mom's findings. Our friend Scott, Wolfgang's roommate, was kind enough to let us take his car and we met up with the lady down by Honolulu, and made a half-day trip out of it. The sunset pic is from around the Dole Plantation -ish and the palm tree ones over at Shark's Cove, after getting yummy acai bowls...mmm MMM good! truly divine.
Oh, and please excuse the lack of quality of centering on the first picture, it was taken out of the car window.
