Hello.

We've been without internet about a week or so, and I now feel that I am back to "normal" now that we have it officially in our apartment. It's really quite pathetic how much we rely on our computers and its internet access, but nonetheless, I'm happy to have it back.

In the mean time though, Wolfgang and I have been playing Uno and other games, so it was kinda nice not having technology be a distraction (did I mention we don't have tv either?)

Needless to say, we are now catching up on our TV shows online.

P.S., have you seen the documentary, "Catfish"? It's worth seeing- you can find it in the redbox. People have been telling me that the previews make it look like a horror film, but it definitely isn't. You learn a lot of things from that movie, other than just not giving too much info online to people you don't know (duh).

"He's so ugly, that he's sexy."

Think about that statement above for a second... is that possible?

Apparently it is, according to my mom, talking about this man right here, Mr. Steven Tyler himselfI was telling my mom yesterday how it was a bad idea to watch an American Idol episode really late at night the night before, because then Steven Tyler was in my dreams. I do have to say though, the guy is pretty cool to talk to, he's nice and chill. Just sayin'.

So what do you think, hot or not? I still can't decide. I might end up agreeing with my mom. I do though like watching him make funny enjoyable faces on American Idol. That's what you should look like when you are enjoying good music.

I didn't forget.

I have promised, and some of you have requested, some new apartment photos. I promise I have not forgotten, our lil apartment is just a little out of order...suitcases with stuff, and nowhere to put it (not a lot of storage space). BUT, my parents are coming today and graciously bringing some storage stuff...so probably after this weekend the pictures will be up.

Here are some teaser pics. (sorry, the quality is kinda bad)

Thanks Marriott

Having Wolfgang work for Marriott DEFINITELY has its perks. We had a fabulous Valentine's Day/Wolfgang's days off on Monday and Tuesday. With his Marriott discounts, we were able to stay a night at the Marriott Vacation Club Canyon Villas in a fancy villa which was probably a little bigger than out apartment, and got our first ever professional massage at the amazing spa of JW Marriott Desert Ridge. It was delightful, and also fun to pretend for a day that we had just as much money as all the retired couples around us.

Newlyweds again

Yesterday was the big move-in day to our new apt. It looks FANTASTIC!
IKEA made it in good timing with all our furniture; poor guys had to carry everything up 3 flights of stairs.

We feel like newlyweds moving into a new apartment, especially since this is the first time we've had to furnish an apartment,
...or did we never get out of the newlywed phase? I'd like to think so.

Either way, we'll have some pictures up soon.

find, call, drive long distance, be disappointed, repeat.

Car shopping is SO MUCH FUN! I don't even know what to with myself, it's so much fun; I think the title of the post explains it all. Although there was a little bit of (real) fun in it yesterday:

-Make arrangements to see car, like car, get vin # from car

-pay carfax.com $35 to check up on history of car... dude not tell the truth...but dude clever to change back odometer! (Thank goodness for carfax! totally worth the investment)

-tell friend we're staying with and neighbors that are over what happened

-most kind and friendly neighbor wife says, "GIVE ME THE PHONE #, I'M CALLING THEM" but in a nice, yet firm voice.

-neighbor calls the dude, and speaks in very fast Spanish that I can't keep up with...dude hesitates on other line..." uh...uh...uh.....yeah, I'll tell my cousin, it's his car" (which, in fact, is NOT a lie)

-we giggle as she is on the line with this guy

-she gets off the phone and tells us how the conversation went, but I DO know she left something out that she said, something like, "don't screw with my American friends" or "you lied to my American friends" or something to that effect.

Fun day.

Thank you, IKEA, for furnishing our new apartment's living room, while letting us stay within our budget. Please deliver our stuff in whole pieces.

Thanks

Snoring.

For some unknown reason, Wolfgang has decided to take up a new hobby: Snoring.

In Hawaii, I don't remember him snoring so much, so I don't know if that means he really didn't snore as much, or that I was just completely exhausted by the end of the day with school full-time and jobs, that I just didn't notice.

So, last night we had another funny little sleeping conversation

Me: (slightly shaking Wolfgang) "hon...hon...HON...Wolfgang..., you're snoring really loud"
W: "ich laub di" (ok, that's not real German, but that's what it sounded like)
Me: (chuckle) "what?"
W: "Oh, I just spoke German to you in English"
Me: (chuckle again...then really confused by the statement)..."huh?"
W: (kinda chuckles) "Oh, I just said 'thank you' in German"
Me: "Ha, ok...." silence. *light bulb* (wait a minute, I KNOW what 'thank you' is in German, and that was NOT it.)

These funny little sleeping conversations will never get old to me.

Where'd the beach go?

The last couple of days, I've really been missing the beach.

The next best thing (maybe even better, depends on what you're wanting)

is LAKE POWELL!

I can't wait for it to be warm enough to go, we might just be crashing at my parent's house every weekend.

Forget the car...

I'm on craigslist looking for cars, and came across this beauty. Why look for hondas and toyotas when you can have THAT!

My search is over.
