Last week was our "spring break," and it was absolutely wonderful. I didn't do anything too extravagant, but it was just way nice to be able to relax and not worry about school work! Instead of repeating information, I've decided to bum off Wolfgang's work and be lazy by giving you the link to his post about spring break. It's quite comical, yet potentially offensive? Nahh, my dad is just weird.
Although there is one thing he did forget to mention, and that is that we went snorkeling! It wasn't the best, so that's probably why he didn't remember/mention it. We went snorkeling at a place called "Shark's Cove" (no sharks). It's a great snorkeling place if you go in the actual cove and not the over-populated and shallow tide pool-ish area, but the swells were too big, so we couldn't, so we resorted to the tide pool area. It still has some fish, but it's just not as diverse. Although it was really neat to see some really long trumpetfish! It scared me at first because they looked like eels, but then we figured out what they really were. Trumpetfish look like this:
the ones we saw weren't this colorful
Or maybe it was a cornetfish? Anyway...We also saw a lot of needlefish, for some reason I like how they swim right close to the surface of the water
Unless waves toss me around and trash me (bad experience at Hanauma Bay probably a year ago...someday I'll grow up and get over it), I find snorkeling extremely relaxing, and it just causes me to remember how wonderful and awesome the ocean is, yet very intimidating at the same time. There were a couple of other fish we saw, the names I can't remember... shameful. After that Wolfgang, my friend Mollika and I went and got an acai bowl at Kava Roots...Mmmm. divine. Bursting with antioxidants, the cure for cancer, fully organic or not, they are so good. Come visit me and I'll take you to get one.
