The Best Story Ever Told!

This is by FAR the best story I've heard in a long time, or maybe even ever.

But first off, I've got to introduce the subject of this story.

This is my student ward bishop, Bishop Gold. He is a kind and soft spoken man, that couldn't hurt a fly, in fact I'm pretty sure he's not even capable of raising his voice; the thought of it is unfathomable. :) He is also a biology professor on campus. Today in a meeting before church, he told us of this experience he had yesterday.

Yesterday at Hukilau beach, he took his kayak out and peddled out until he got to the drop off, so that he could do some fishing. He noticed that he started taking on a lot of water in his kayak, so he started to bail out water. All of a sudden about 20ft. away, up comes a mom and baby humpback whales!!! Isn't that amazing?!? But, this is only the beginning to the story.

After being in awe of being so close to the whales, all of a sudden his fishing line started screaming out of his fishing pole... you guessed it, he had caught a whale, A WHALE!! So he started to panic, as he found himself in a very stressful situation, especially after remembering that he had tied his fishing pole to the kayak. He frantically started searching for his knife to start cutting away at the rope, but luckily soon after the fishing line finally snapped, and his fishing pole was still in tact.

Can you believe that?!?! That is truly amazing, I can't believe something like that really happening! Next time he plays the game of, "tell everyone something you have done that you think no one else has done before" he'll win, hands down.

He is one lucky man not only because he now has an awesome story to tell, but that he was lucky enough that his line snapped so that his fishing pole was saved, and even better, that the whale didn't take off with his kayak, although someone did say, "that would of been a nice free trip to Alaska..."
