Concert and a Throw Back

love the guy with his arms in the air. This depicts so many of the country fans. love 'em!

This past Saturday Wolfgang and I went to a Kenny Chesney concert {Although shown above is Eric Church} because I scored some free tickets at work!  You can never pass up a country concert.

It is also a rule that you cannot attend a country concert, without getting your country on.  So that is exactly what I did.

"Is that a belt buckle on your waist?!"  Why yes, yes it is.  And it is legit.

Once upon a time I went to college for my first two years in Idaho; I loved it and learned a lot.

One of those things I learned was how to bring out my inner cowgirl.  I took some pretty amazing classes while I was attending college, some of which where field biology classes, and on our lab day we got to ride horses and collect plants n' things. It was definitely one of the best semesters of my college career.

Anyway, during the time I was taking those classes, I went to a country store and coveted an expensive belt buckle.  I wanted to play along and become "one of them" {those crazy ones who legit-ly wear a belt buckle} during my lab classes.  I went home and found the buckle on ebay for a fraction of the price, and bought that sucker.

The name of the belt buckle is "First Love," which if you can't tell from the picture, it is a girl kissing a horse.
awwwwww.

Every buckle has to have a story, right?  Well to me this represented my horse, "Grace" that I was assigned to during that field biology course.  I've mentioned her before on my blog. {kinda in sad circumstances, sorry. Also that is when my pics were deleted}

Here are some 'throw back' pictures/memories of me with my belt buckle and Grace for my your enjoyment.
{These were taking back in '07, btw.}

Bad A****
Cool kids

Never mind that we are pointing at each other inappropriately.  We were comparing buckles, OK?!?

I'm still here.

Wow, it's been a while since I last blogged! I haven't been in the mood lately, and felt like there wasn't much to blog about.

I've been kinda in a rut lately, and I'll just blame the weather for that. Luckily today was a nice day, enough so to walk outside in a lovely little park with Wolfgang. We were SO entertained with the wildlife, it was kinda pathetic.

This past week has been kinda eventful, good and kinda bad.  Let's start with the good.

Just a little over a week ago, we went to P!ink's concert!  It was INCREDIBLE.  I'm so serious. She is a phenomenal performer.  I've always liked her, and it was so cool to see her live.  Unfortunately I don't have proof from this experience,  for the most part because we had terrible seats.  And by terrible, I mean terrible. They shouldn't have been selling our seats. Wolfgang felt pretty bad because this was my Christmas present from him, but it was still a blast regardless. Our goal is to see her again in he future, and pay better money for better seats.  It would be totally worth it.

This week has also been a doozy for us in terms of health too. I'm pretty sure a bunch of nasty sh-- has been going around church from all the snotty nose children.  Seems that everyone at church has been sick with the same type of things.  Needless to say, the activity for the youth kids this week, we disinfected lots of stuff in the church building- I think we should have fumigation the whole place.  OK, I know that is for pests, but they should have one for germs, right?

Anyway, Wolfgang was violently sick on Monday, but not hospital status, thank goodness.  Luckily I didn't get what he had, but I came down with a nasty cold myself.  Each of us had to take off a day from work this week.  Payday will remind us next week. ;)

Well, that about does it.  Have a lovely weekend!

The American Crew.

A week ago, we went to the American Idol tour concert. We got a lot of grief for going to such concert, but I do have to say... it was so fun! This past season was the first time Wolfgang or I have watched the whole season through, and naturally, we got attached to the contestants. Oh reality tv!

Here's a little recap of a few {most} of the performers:

Although Naima wasn't a favorite and didn't last long in the top 11, she really was awesome live and really knows how to entertain.

Paul is so dreamy. He stole our hearts for sure. Wolfgang was even caught in one our videos saying, "I LOVE YOU PAUL!!!"

Pia is the sexy, (seems to be) humble amazing singer of the crew,

Haley is the cute not- so-humble talented singer,

Stefano sucks in real life too,

Casey is the cool kid with creativity,

James is the ultimate awesome rocker that can rock the house and entertain like he's been in the business for years,

and last but definitely not least, Scotty McHottie is still my ultimate cowboy crush. Never mind he's only 17.

At the end of the show, we left fully satisfied, complete with scratchy voices from yelling, and ringing ears to last a day.

The most surprising thing about the whole event? There
were SO many older people there! No joke. 50yrs + were at a surprising high in the audience. A few sat by us, and I don't think they enjoyed our enthusiasm. But come on, you're at a concert! You've gotta have fun with it, and be ridiculous, right?

Here are a few bad quality pictures of the concert, for your enjoyment.

Happy 4th, America.

Happy 4th everyone! I'm grateful this day to be an American citizen where I have so many freedoms and privileges.

We celebrated last night by going to a Blake Shelton concert! He's so hot. As my late grandmother would say, "He can put his boots under my bed anytime he wants!"

Ok, so he can't. But really, he is attractive.

Bad quality picture, I know. But he's the one at the mic. Obviously.

His concert was followed by a spectacular fireworks show that lasted 30 minutes! Pretty impressive.

Today Wolfgang has to work, {probably because he's not American.... ;) } So there won't be much celebrating this day, but I fantasize {I kinda hate that word, but I'm using it anyway} about big BBQ's today, but I think maybe grabbing a hot dog or hamburger somewhere today will have to suffice.

Us and the teenage drama girls.

I have a confession to make:

We are TOTALLY digging "American Idol" this season.

This is the first season that Wolfgang and I have ever gotten into this show, and it's quite addictive! It's so amazing how much talent there is out there {after you weed out the 2349872347 of crappy ones} And what amazes me even more, is that the majority of contestants are SO young! But in the words of Randy Jackson, "If you have it, you have it, it doesn't matter what age."

Anyway, so guess what? We are going to these guys:

In concert in July!

Yep, you better believe it. I logged on as soon as tickets went on sale.

Ok, yes, go ahead, laugh and judge all you want! But we are going to have a blast. :)

Contestants that we're most excited to see :

1) Casey Abrams, the "creative guy"
2) Scotty McCreery, my little girl crush
3)
Paul McDonald
, Wolfgang's crush {and mine too}

Contestant we are NOT excited to see: Stefano {don't care to find a photo of him...you can google him}

Don't even get me started with Stefano.

Bring on the fun and the obnoxious teenage drama girls! { "AHHH!! OMG!!! I LOVE YOU SCOTTY!!! oh wait...}

Weekends are always too short.

This weekend consisted of some fun, with a lot of BORING. Friday night was good, it consisted of:

I LOVE Target.

A little over a year ago they opened one up on the opposite side of the island, but what I DIDN'T know until a few days ago, is that at the same time they also opened one up in Honolulu! So we just had to go visit it. Good thing I brought a list and stuck to it, I was proud of myself. I was also proud of Wolfgang for not letting me to to the swimming suit section.

Target just has such a nice, clean, happy atmosphere, compared to Wal-mart's nasty, dreary, frantic "I hate my job and all of you" atmosphere, it was pathetically refreshing.

We came back home just in time for the REBEL SOULJAHZ (for those of you that are not "cool," that's the cool way of spelling soldiers) concert on campus.

On our way over they stopped really fast right in front of us and said, "hi, um...we are suppose to be performing here in like 10 min...can you tell us where the stage is??"

They are a lot less intimidating than they look. Wolfgang and I have seen them before at various events and enjoy their music, AND we scored free tickets. They are a local Hawaiian band that plays very enjoyable hawaiian-style reggae music with their dreamy Polynesian voices.

As for Saturday,

BORING.
LAME.
LONELY.
...yet productive.

Wolfgang was gone literally all day, pretty much from 8am-2:30am the next morning, because of a stupid English test they made him take on campus, and also because of work. I was a total homebody and stayed home all day and just did homework. What can I say? Us newlyweds are clingy to our husbands and don't want to do things without them so I didn't bother trying to call anyone to do something, especially on Saturdays, and quite franky I don't want to be the 3rd wheel of a married couple anyway, that's just awkward. AND all my awesome single friends are gone, so it was just a really long and excruciating date with my homework. But hey! less homework to do today and tomorrow.

And that my friends, was my weekend. Now back to the grind of school...
