A wedding and mini vaycay

At the beginning of the month, we went to Vegas to celebrate my cousin Joy's wedding!  It was a lovely occasion, and I was finally able to meet her (now) husband.  He is a great guy and I think he will be able to handle our crazy family well.

After a few days in Vegas, Wolfgang and I decided to spend a few short days in Phoenix! We had a great time relaxing in the perfect, perfect weather {think 70s, people!}. I even wore shorts and sandals one day. I could have cried.

Wolfgang's old "Marriott family" at the Camelback Inn took very good care of us for two nights, then the last night we stayed with some friends. We were both able to visit with old friends and co-workers, and quickly realized how much we missed them, and how much we miss our desert livin'. We really did have it good in Phoenix in many ways.

Also, I was finally able to take a picture of my favorite sign!

Isn't that great?  It's on the drive between Vegas to Phoenix. And literally, there is nothing around. There are some interesting podunk towns outside of Phoenix, and now Wolfgang and I decided that when we are feeling sorry for ourselves, we are now just going to say, "It could be worse, we could be living in Wikieup."

A little delayed.

Now that it is in the middle of December, I guess Phoenix finally decided for it to be the "fall" season. I noticed this beautiful tree as I was leaving church today. After that I noticed other trees here and there that had their leaves in beautiful colors, also. Of course there aren't very many of those trees around here, but it was beautiful nontheless.

Happy Sunday everyone.

Miracle.

Two days ago, a miracle happened.

We arrived in Phoenix, and the weather was nice.

We came into our apartment, and we didn't even have to turn on the A/C! I opened up the blinds and the windows, and just let the beautiful weather do its thing; it was about 70-75 degrees.

We kept the a/c off and the windows open as we stayed at Wolfgang's work for two nights with his parents. There we were treated like VIPs by Wolfgang's co-workers: they really made it extra special for his parents; he is so lucky to work with some pretty great people.

This morning we came back to our apartment, and it still felt great, and it was only 70 degrees in out apartment- awesome!

I'm so excited that fall is giving us a sneak peek. Next week it's suppose to get back up to the triple digits, but hopefully not for too long.

Two is better than three.

What's that, you ask? Oh, that's the weather for the next couple of days. I case you didn't notice, the digits are two instead of three. I thought this day would never come.

The lightning storms the last couple of nights have been pretty impressive; I told Wolfgang while driving last night that it looked like there was a dance party going on in heaven. Other areas of the valley have been getting fun rain storms too, but no love yet here in da central.

I think this will also make for an exciting week at work. Can't wait!
