I'm going to say this again, it is realllly hard to go through hundreds of pictures. Isn't it crazy how technology allows us to easily take so many pictures? Yet so many bad quality pictures too sometimes, haha.
Here's a continuation in pictures, of some things we did while we were in Austria.
We met "Soccer," my Brother-in-law's wife's (pregnant!) horse. I'm a sucker for horses
Weirdo.
One of Soccer's stable buddies
Stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Vienna to celebrate our wedding anniversary (while I still had RC benefits)
Too bad they didn't read our "guest notes" that we don't drink alcohol: minus 2 pts.
RC has the BEST fluffy beds.
Went to the Globe Museum! I LOVE all things globes and maps! Very impressive collection.
Old ones!
Normal ones!
ITTY BITTY CUTIE PATUTIE ONES!!
How much for the globe clock, kind sir?
Even in dim lighting you can see my, "I LOVE GLOBES!!!" face.
Went on a really tall building to see Vienna from above
Oh my. It has been a while since I last blogged, hasn't it? A lot has happened since the last time I blogged so let's get right to it, shall we?
In August we went to Austria! It was just under a week, so it was a short trip, especially for overseas. The reason for our trip was because Wolfgang's sister got married! I will apologize in advance that we didn't take very good pictures {my mom even called me out on it, thanks mom.}
So in my first series of pictures/post of this trip, here are some pictures from the wedding.
The wedding was a traditional Austrian wedding, which was fun. Everyone wore Lederhosen and Dirndls (google it, or look below!) including us! I wasn't excited when I first heard I had to wear a dirndl, but it wasn't so bad after all, and especially since everyone else was wearing one too. I was definitely channeling Julie Andrews in "The Sound of Music" {short hair and all} but I didn't even get to take a, "The hills are alive!" picture like I so desperately wanted to! I'll blame my husband.
The newlyweds
some fun and traditional games during the reception
The moment some of you been waiting for: seeing Wolfgang in the lederhosen, and me in a dirndl! Pic with my brother-in-law and his wife, who got hitched last year
Adorable?! Husband and nephew, son of the new married couple
Yours truly.
Wolfgang did his hair. Can you tell?
Now this concludes Part 1; it's bedtime! This is such a big deal that I'm finally doing this, I should reward myself with a brownie. that I made tonight.
I always seem to need to have some sort of event, big or small, to
keep me going and motivated throughout the week. I haven't quite
figured out if this is a good or bad thing, but that's basically why my
blog title is, "What's Next?" Because it fits me perfectly as to how I
tend to look at things.
The last couple of weeks have
been great, we've been able to do things here and there that have kept
us sane during this busy and slightly chaotic work season. Here are
some things we've been up to.
Spring Training
A couple of weeks ago we went to a spring training game with the Diamondbacks (Go DBacks!) vs Cubs. It was a gorgeous day, and it was a chill but fun game. Wolfgang is officially American, because he had a hot dog at a baseball game! So proud. Next step for us is to go to a legit game.
Treat Yo' Self.
Never heard of it? It's only from one of our favorite TV shows. Let me clue you in:
So, we decided to have a "Treat Yo Self" mini (sorta)stay-cation.
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Dove Mountain for two nights; first night was free, second night on our employee rate, of course. BAM! It was fantastic. Not to mention, they had the best avocado fries, and buffalo tacos {salivating}
During that little vacation, we also went to Saguaro National Park. I just love them cacti!
Other festivities have included actually being social with friends and co-workers (woah, I know...) and going wedding dress shopping with a friend of mine on several occasions, which was fun because I hadn't gone since it was me putting on all those dresses!
And now, the moment you've {I} have been waiting for, of what is to come in the {somewhat} near future...{and sorry, to many of you, this isn't new news}
Flights are booked, and we are going to Austria for my brother-in-law's wedding in July, with a side detour of Wolfgang's old stomping grounds in England!!!
I'm so excited, I can hardly wait. We'll be gone for about 2 1/2 weeks. I've already got a list going of things we have to do, and things we should do while we are over there. The Lonely Planet book of England has been very helpful, and seeing that I have a local informant for Austria, I don't have to do too much researching for that portion of the trip :)
I even loved reading the confirmation email for our flights to/from Austria to England, because the English words and slang are different and cute.
Hope you are all doing well, and thanks for being patient with me as I figured out the new Blogger set-up, aka my laziness.
