The things you'll do for those you love...

It happened, I gave in. Wolfgang has this thing about Polo Shirts, but I kinda have this thing against polo shirts, or in other words, I don't think they look good on me. When him and I were last in Vegas, he made me try on some Tommy Hilfiger polos, but I did not like them on me, but he swore that they looked good. Well yesterday we went shopping with some friends and him and I went into American Eagle, and I thought I would give the polos another chance. So I tried some on, and I actually liked them! It's definitely a different look, but it'll be fun to do something different, and I hope I don't look like a man in them, but if you see me and I DO look like a man, please don't tell me.

It's about TIME!

For a lot o' weeks now, the weather hasn't been very paradise-like. It's been super windy, cloudy, and rainy. Yesterday rained off and on all day long, but today is beautiful and sunny! Not too hot, not too cold. Such bipolar weather! So I can say, it's been a good day thus far. This morning I did my roommate Janelle's "30 Day Shred" workout video for the second time.

Recognize the trainer? She's one of the trainers from the t.v. show, "The biggest loser." The workouts are only 20 minutes long, and there are 3 levels. "20 minutes?!?" you say? "Pathetic!!" Oh no, not so my dear friends. Jillian KICKS YOUR TRASH. trust me. try it.
Another exciting and happy thing about today is that President Clark came and spoke at devotional! I love that man. He's the president at BYU-Idaho, and I just think the world of him. He's such a good man and his speech was powerful. I even teared up a little when he started speaking, because it just reminded me of many great and sweet memories at BYUI. So that's the scoop. Now it's time for homework...yay.

Crossing my fingers...

So I just finished my loaf of white bread I (well, Zojirushi made... ) made, and now the bread maker is in the process of making some wheat bread, but a different recipe that was on the internet. I hope this time it works out and doesn't turn out like my other wheat moon breads!

Whale Watching... finally!

So I went whale watching on President's Day, and I just now getting around to blogging about it! I still don't have all the pictures that I wanted to share, but this will do for now. I don't want to write a novel about it, but I'll share pictures from Wolfgang and I. Long story short, it was AMAZING! I've always had wanted to go whale watching, and I'm pretty sure my childhood obsession of "Free Willy" sparked that. Since then I have loved killer whales and dolphins, and marine life in general. Several years back I got the chance to play with dolphins at SeaWorld (yes Jess, don't forget, I AM the favorite) and I absolutely loved it. Anyway, this whale watching trip rekindled my love for the magnificent creatures. It's a shame that chemistry ruins my life and I'm still not studying marine biology, but ANYWAY....

Wolfgang and I went with our friends Ben and Jessica, and I was grateful for Jessica for finding a great and legit company. It started out in Haleiwa, which is north of us about 30 (?) minutes away. Jessica even made a "whale watching" cd mix which was fun, but the boys didn't seem to appreciate it as much as we did. :)

Being on the catamaran made me feel so at ease and a little bit nostalgic for back home, of all fun memories on the lake with family and friends, and summer lake jobs, and the feeling that it could never be better than that. Honestly, I could of stayed on that boat all day long and be completely content, as it lulled me to sleep. But moving on...

This was the front of the boat, it was great! Just a measly little net between you and the ocean. It was fun when some of the bigger waves would come, because we would get so close to the water that it seemed like the nose of the boat was going to go underwater!

We couldn't believe how incredibly blue the ocean was! Ok, so that may sound stupid, but I hope you get what I mean; it was gorgeous.

Then, the moment we had all been waiting for... after seeing several humpback whale "blows" in the distance, they finally came close! Ok, so the definition of "close" is all relative. They didn't come right up next to us by any means, but they were in clear sight, and I'm sorry but I'm bad with measurments, so I'm not going to even try, but here are some pictures. Some of these don't do them justice, because cameras can never fully convey what you witness.

I can't say enough, the trip was great! It was truly a humbling and awe inspiring experience. On our way home from the trip, we stopped by "turtle beach" and shark's cove, which is currently definitely not ideal for snorkeling right now.



So there's the trip! Sorry it took so long to write about. There are a few more pictures that I want to share, so when I get them I'll be sure to post them. One last thing, here is the great video that Ben made for the whale watching experience. He definitely has a great talent for film-making. Please disregard that I look "special" in the part in the movie that I laugh a lot...

Round Two

So if you remember a few weeks ago, I blogged about Wolfgang's and my challenge to not eating out for a week, which is really hard for us. Pathetic, huh? I feel as though I am the typical, stereotypical American- too dang lazy to save money and make my own food! We kind of lack the self-control against our beloved Subway. SO, we've decided that it is time to take action. As of today, Wolfgang and I are not eating out, for a month!! Sadly enough, this is a huge step for us, but we know it's a really smart idea to save money. We feel like it is hard for us to complain about not having money, when we blow so much on eating out all the time. It just doesn't make sense, right? right. So this is an exciting time, although it will be hard. Keep us in your prayers... ;)
